Chris O'Grady scored but later missed a penalty as Rochdale drew 1-1 with Bradford.
The League Two side took the lead against the run of play when on-loan Stoke striker Louis Moult fired low past Dale goalkeeper Josh Lillis after 55 minutes.
O'Grady equalised from close range and had the chance to secure the win for Keith Hill's side from the spot after Moult fouled Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, but his poor effort was saved by City goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.
