Dale out for revenge

The Dale have the change to avenge there 5-1 hammering at Sixfields against Northampton earlier in the season. Northampton travel to the Spotland Stadium tomorrow, and have the chance to do the double over the dale.

The Dale played out a 5-1 reverse at Sixfields earlier in the season, after an own goal by Daryl Burgess gave the home side the lead, and to make matters worse Burgess was sent off just 12 minutes later. Northampton took full advantage and soon made it 3-1 thanks to two goals from Martin Smith. In the second period again the Cobblers started brightest and increased their lead thanks to another own goal by Neil Edwards. Dale did manage to pull one back through Gareth Griffiths with 15 minutes remaining what proved to be no more than a consolation as the Cobblers completed the 5-1 hammering in stoppage time through Josh Low.

The Cobblers are current sitting just inside the playoffs and the Dale in 13th it gives Rochdale a chance to move up to 8th in the table.
