Midfielder David Flitcroft is all set to link up with his former boss Kevin Ratcliffe at Shrewsbury Town after the Salop boss made a bid for his services just before the Steve Parkin story broke last week.

That deadline had now passed taking some of the urgency out of the situation though Ratcliffe is still confident that he will get his man saying,
"I've put a bid in for him and now I am just waiting to see what happens."
"I am waiting for them to come back to me as it all went a little bit strange last week with the manager leaving. I had hoped to get it done on Friday so he would be eligible to play in the FA Cup but now that has passed I am in less of hurry to seal a deal."
As his former boss Ratcliffe is fully aware of his qualities,
"I know what he's all about and he's ideal for this league."
