The final rites of Steve Parkin's reign at Spotland were finally read at 12 o'clock today when it was officially announced by Barnsley that Steve Parkin is the new manager of Barnsley Football Club and Tony Ford the new assistant manager.

Thankfully for once Dale stood firm in the face of such pressure and called Barnsley's bluff thus ensuring that Dennis' contemptible attempt to get Parkin and Ford on the cheap was doomed to failure.
And that is the end of the subject as far as this website is concerned until news of the compensation award comes through in the weeks to come.
